The First Newsletter from Advantage Speech Therapy Services & Children’s Therapy Group

Welcome to a joint newsletter project between ADVANTAGE SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES and CHILDREN’S THERAPY GROUP. Our goal is to provide you with newsworthy information to highlight professional tips, tricks, and tools that will help you help those kids around you!

Each month we will provide you with information on a different topic. Our first newsletter in SEPTEMBER will cover TECHNOLOGY and how it can be used in a therapeutic setting. Other topics may include crafts/projects that are educational and fun at the same time. We will also address the benefits of play, reinforce products and therapy resources that we find helpful in our day to day practice. Additionally we will highlight local resources in our area.

If you have suggestions or want more information on a given topic, or want to be featured as a local professional, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can feature it/you in one of our future newsletters.

NOVEMBER’S FEATURED PRODUCT….

Speech Buddies are a series of tools that help children not only learn the correct placement but consistent placement of the most difficult to learn sounds – R, S, L, CH, and SH. This is breakthrough technology in the field of speech therapy designed by SLPs and engineers to help kids with challenging speech disorders.
This product can be used in a therapy setting but also purchased by families for home carryover. By having your own tools at home, your child will be able to consistently reinforce the correct placement of his/her articulators for repetitive practice – ultimately reducing the time required in therapy. It is recommended that these tools be used with children over the age of 4.
